Replenish Electrolytes

Rather than accepting that gap, Laura decided to build something better.

Laura Moore

The Background

When Laura Moore & Laura Milward co-founded Replenish Electrolytes, the mission was deeply personal.

After experiencing severe pregnancy sickness herself, including Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG), Laura Milward saw first-hand how little support existed for women struggling through pregnancy nausea. Something as basic as staying hydrated could become incredibly difficult, yet there were very few products designed with those realities in mind.

Rather than accepting that gap, Laura decided to build something better.

Replenish Electrolytes was created as the UK’s first electrolyte and vitamin product specifically developed for women experiencing pregnancy-related nausea and sickness.

Every detail of the product has been designed with pregnant women in mind, from the flavour profile through to the formulation itself, taking into account taste aversions, sensitivity and the practical realities many women face during pregnancy.

But for Laura, this was never just about launching a product. It was about helping women feel seen, supported and understood during an experience that is often minimised or dismissed.

The Connection

I first connected with Laura during a Q&A session on a webinar I was hosting around finance options for women-owned businesses. Laura followed up afterwards with a one-to-one Teams call, where we spoke more about the business, her vision for Replenish, and the barriers she was facing in getting the product to market.

Like many founders at the early stages, access to funding was one of the biggest challenges. Laura had a strong idea, clear purpose and lived experience driving the business, but needed the financial backing to take the next step.

Following our conversation, we introduced Laura to the Start Up Loans scheme and provided her with the application pack and guidance to support her through the process.

Laura went on to successfully secure a Start Up Loan, which gave her the ability to move forward with confidence and funding her first production run, developing her online presence and officially launching Replenish to market.

The Result

Since then, it’s been incredible to watch the business evolve from an idea into a purpose-led brand with a growing community behind it.

From the very first conversation with Laura, it was clear how passionate she was about what she wanted to achieve with Replenish. This wasn’t just about creating another product,  it came from genuine lived experience and a real desire to improve support for women going through pregnancy sickness.

Seeing Replenish launch online has been genuinely exciting, especially knowing how much hard work has gone into getting the product to this stage. So many women start businesses because they’ve experienced a problem themselves and want to create something better for others, and that’s exactly what Laura has done with Replenish.

Supporting founders like Laura is the reason Female Founder Finance exists. Sometimes the right funding and guidance at the right stage can make all the difference in helping an important idea become a real business.

Replenish stands out not only because of the product itself, but because it has been built from genuine lived experience and a desire to improve support for women navigating pregnancy sickness. Laura has created something thoughtful, practical and rooted in care while also helping raise awareness around an area of women’s health that still doesn’t receive enough attention.

Supporting founders like Laura is exactly why Female Founder Finance exists. Sometimes, the right conversation, guidance or introduction to funding can be the thing that helps turn an important idea into a real business with real impact.
